This is a small front garden typical of many London Victorian terraces. The garden is only used to store a wheelie bin and this is tucked away next to the bay window. The planting focuses the eye away from the bins without actually having to conceal it totally. The client wants the garden to have an impact and be sympathetic to the style of the house. Also as there is no water source at the front of the house the planting would have to be sustainable with a few watering cans once per week.
- Black iron railings on a low retaining wall made of yellow London stock bricks to match the house.
- Traditonal black and cream diamond tiled pathway leading to front door.
- Front of house painted black and cream to maintain a consistent colour scheme.
- Geometric black zinc planters and window boxes create a formal yet classic look.
- Formal planting with standard bay and box pyramids underplanted with ivy, white tulips and lavender for season colour.
- Flooring of golden pea shingle retained by black Victorian rope top edging.
