This is a small garden in a Victorian semi-detached house in East Dulwich . The outdoor space had already been recently decked and the same deck materials where used to erect the enclosed fencing.
The client wanted a contemporary all-year entertaining area to compliment the existing decking.
To compliment the neutral backdrop of the decking, colour and detail were introduced to pull the scheme together.
The fencing was washed in a silver-grey and then trellis panels painted ocean blue provided additional colour and depth to the overall garden.
A stainless steel pyramid water feature provided movement in the garden and the use of purple slate adds another colour dimension to the scheme. The rippling movement of the water was compliment by planting mature and structural bamboos.
Combined planting and seating areas were constructed from new railway sleepers that well age naturally with the decking.
The entire garden is lit by recessed deck lights and individual spotlights on key planting areas.
